We are part of a growing ‘giving back’ generation. We are conscious shoppers who buy brands for way more than style. We look into the brands ethics, beliefs, and community involvement. We want to buy things we feel good about wearing, that help others or betters our community someway somehow.
Warby Parker is a brand that you don’t need to go digging for the good. On an environmental front, they are one of the only carbon-neutral eyewear brands in the world, which means they work to reduce their environmental impact by mapping out their greenhouse gas emissions.
And if you were unaware already, their entire business model is based on giving back and helping others in need. We often take things in life, like wearing a pair of glasses to see a chalk board or to read a book properly, for granted. But what if you realized you couldn’t read because of bad eyesight, and you were unable to afford glasses of any sort? Imagine never being able to read. Well Warby Parker is doing something to change that. For every pair of eyeglasses/sunglasses purchased, Warby Parker donates another pair and/or funds to those in need.
And the best part is that it isn’t complicated. They made giving back extremely easy for consumers. All you have to do is go online or to one of their select retail stores and purchase a pair. Don’t want to buy a pair of glasses without trying them on? They’ve already taken that into consideration. They have an easy to use and accurate online try-on where you upload a picture of yourself, and an at home try on where you can test out the glasses and send them back if you aren’t satisfied.
Don’t wear eyeglasses? They are also really stepping up their sunglass game- www.warbyparker.com/sunglasses-which is a wise move considering people own multiple pairs of sunglasses, while often owning only one pair of eyeglasses for an extended amount of time. And today, March 18, is the introduction of their new Spring line-The Spectrum Sun Collection!
I absolutely love the shapes and colors Warby Parker is bringing to the table with this line. There’s a pair for everyone’s unique style and I would own and wear each and every one.
Buuuut if I had to pick a favorite, or at least the one that jumped out at me the most it’d be The Minnie in Eucalyptus. I love the bold circle shape and they’re the perfect shade of green. I imagine myself wearing them with a crisp white t-shirt dress and brown strappy sandals-come on sunshine! I’m also really loving The Downing in the striped sassafras, they’re the perfect preppy cool shape and color-the blue lenses really make them one in their own.
Each pair in this collection is only $95 and they are also all available with prescription lenses for only $150. Which considering the price of designer sunglasses, it’s a great deal for the quality and look-and remember you’re not only buying 1 pair, you’re technically buying two.
It is a simple way to give back, and you get to look great and feel good about what you’re wearing.
