The Community Festival aka Comfest, is a festival in the heart of The Short North at Goodale Park. Its purpose is to ‘bring the people together’ through music, food, art & activities. And yes, it is one big hippie fest. Not every part of comfiest appeals to everyone, but we all have a little hippie in us. Whether it be the fashion, healthy eating, or listening to music on a lawn-3 things I very much enjoy. This year almost got ruined by rain (they were debating shutting it down due to mud), but the sunshine pulled through for us.
We spent the day watching some of our favorite music acts (MojoFlo & The Floorwalkers are me and my friends favorites) looking around at art, shopping in the little tent boutiques, drinking fruit & kale smoothies from Earth’s Crust: Krazy Monkey Juice Bar, dancing, people watching, making our own art & attending after parties at two great spots: Brother’s Drake & Park Street Tavern-because MojoFlo was playing.. & they’re ALWAYS a good time. If you didn’t make it out this year, be sure to join the fun in 2015!
